You can't swing a cat* without landing on an amazing review of Esperanza Spalding's follow-up to Chamber Music Society, Radio Music Society. Considered by her as the second part of a 2-part feature album (with Chamber Music Society being the first), Not only does she inform the world "Jazz Ain't Nothin' But Soul" (I told you Ed Love), but she also reminds us of the community experience the radio provides for us in possibly my favorite track off the album, "Radio Song." I dare not to be taken in by the infectious melody and arrangements.
We featured the album on last week's New Soul Sunday, but I have no doubt she'll be making more appearances in future shows. Kick off your weekend and a sunny day with "Radio Song," and I'll see you on Sunday at 4pm.
*New Soul Sunday wonders why you would be swinging cats anyway...in my experience, they don't like it.
