A federal grand jury has subpoenaed records from Adolph Mongo…a well known political consultant and ally of Kwame Kilpatrick. He’s also behind the effort to get current Mayor…Ken Cockrel Junior…kicked off the special primary ballot for alleged misconduct.
According to the Free Press…a public relations firm founded by Bob Berg was also subpoenaed. Berg has served as a consultant for Kwame Kilpatrick and his mother Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. Berg was also Coleman Young’s longtime Press Secretary.
The subpoenas are part of a wide ranging federal investigation into possible corruption within city government. According to the Free Press…federal agents are interested in how Kwame Kilpatrick used various nonprofit and political groups.
